The Royal Pavilion opens its doors for the annual People’s Palace Open Day on Sunday 22 January 2012, with FREE entry all day. Come along and find out how you can get involved in helping to conserve and care for the Royal Pavilion all year round.

There will also be another chance to experience Johanna Hällsten’s sound installation, A Regency Utopia commissioned for White Night 2011. The installation explores the hidden human histories of the Royal Pavilion through a series of soundscapes played in rooms throughout the building.  These sounds celebrate the individuals and activities that have sustained the life of the palace from the time of George IV up to the present day. 

In the run up to the Open Day, we will be posting material on our social media sites relating to the civic history of the Royal Pavilion. Why did the people of Brighton acquire the Pavilion in 1850, and what uses has the palace been put to in the last 162 years?

Tuesday night Emma Fielden and Alex Harrap celebrated with their Brighton and Hove fashion friends their artistic collaboration I told you about in a previous post.

Here the pictures of the event with the girls wearing Emma's past and new items and dressed by Joanne Fleming and Walk in Wardrobe.

Being Italian, millinery and fascinators are quite new to my eyes, so I was really glad to be able to see those fantastic creations up close and I wish there were fascinators foe men. I would wear one!
At times it was difficult, though, to focus on the headpieces as some of the dresses that the girls wore were beautiful and a touch distracting but the overall dreamy and fantastic mood of the photo book was there.

On December the 13th the volume ' A book of Hats and Tales' will be launched in a Brighton laines location to showcase Emma Fielden SS12 hats collection plus some archive pieces.

The book is not ordinary one.

It's the result of two creative and powerful minds, Emma's and Alex Harrap's, artist and illustrator, who has reworked the pictures by Jo Thorne and Annemieke Goldswain-Hein, into stunning dreamy visual pieces.

Il 13 dicembre il volume ' A book of Hats and Tales' sara' presentato nelle mitiche laines di Brighton per mostrare la collezione di cappelli SS12 di Emma Fielden in aggiunta ad alcuni pezzi d'archivio.

Il libro non e' uno qualunque.

E' il frutto di due menti potenti e creative,quella di Emma e di Alex Harrap, artista ed illustratore , il quale ha rielaborato le foto di Jo Thorne e Annemieke Goldswain-Hein, in incredibili visioni oniriche.

Potete dare un primo sgurado al libro sul web ed apprezzare da voi la sua bellezza.

The book is divided into ten short visual stories and Emma's head pieces, styled by Clary Fisher, are the central focus of the story, both visually and conceptually.

I'll be at the event on the 13th and can't wait to see the immersive installation presentation that's being prepared and to meet the people behind the book and other fashion fellows from B&H fashion scene.

Il libro e' diviso in dieci storie fotografiche brevi e in ognuna di esse i capi di Emma Fielden, con lo styling di Clary Fisher, sono il punto focale della storia, sia visivamnente che concettualmente.

Io saro' all'evento il 13 e non vedo l'ora di assistere all'installazione immersiva della presentazione e di incontrare sia gli artefici del libro che gli altri colleghi del mondo fashion di B&H.
